When a parent falls out with a god parent

What is the correct etiquette around being god parent, when the parent/s of the child no longer wish to continue their friendship?

Does anyone take god-parenting seriously any more? Saving up money, fostering a real relationship with the child? Does it matter ethically or otherwise if the relationship is severed by the adults involved?

Only if you all go to the church and you are providing spiritual guidance. If not don't worry about it.

Saving up money? Is that part of the requirements now?

Oestrogelsmuggler · 24/07/2022 15:19

The money bit is optional, I think.

If the parent didn't want me in their life after a falling out I would assume that extended to their child too.
