What do you do to soothe yourself, OP? What active steps do you take to make yourself feel better?
Posting here is a good start!
If you're calling yourself a grumpy fucker, you're being grumpy to yourself. It's very rude, if someone is hurting, to just say 'God, s/he's just a grumpy fucker.' If you start being nicer to yourself, you'll also start being nicer to others. What about 'I'm hurting... what can I do to make myself feel nice, even if it's just for a minute/even if it's just slightly/even if it's not that good for me in the long term'?
Have you tried that mindset? I'm grumpy sometimes, but if I can affectionately look after myself, and take responsibility for looking after me to help me feel better, I'm a lot nicer to be around than if I accuse myself of being a bit crap, and rubbish company.
My advice would be to crack open the Minstrels, watch an episode of something that soothes you, and then get off to the gym, but those are the things that work for me. Can you set about finding your own? (I bet Minstrels will be involved anyway
