Hi,

Female 29 currently on a break from dating apps, has anyone used the ‘meet up’ website before and met guys? I’m interested in meeting new friends generally too, but dating wise would much prefer to meet someone organically.

Generally speaking it depends on the group, but bare in mind some organisers don't like you using meetup for dating. I've even seen them message to remind people that they are a hobby group, not a place to date xD

If it's just social groups (like nights out) you'll be fine though. It's as good a place as any.

@Pinkbonbon yes the one I’m looking at is a social group for young people and do like nights out, pub quiz etc. I live in a small city so not a great deal of choice compared to bigger cities lol

I always thought Meet Ups was more about the social stuff and hobby groups. If you meet a potential partner then great but otherwise, you're there for the hobby/social.

Don't discount it, but don't make dating the focus/reason for joining it.
