Does he like me or are we just friends?

I have a work colleague - we have similar jobs but in different parts of the business. We see each other for work reasons maybe a couple of times a month. We also get together for social reasons - maybe a drink or dinner - around once or twice a month.

I’m trying to work out if he sees me as a friend or potentially something more. We’re in regular text contact - usually daily - and spend some evenings texting back and forth for a couple of hours. The contact usually starts as work related, but often a question that doesn’t really need an answer, or something that we could have found out from someone else.

I’m not even sure that he sees me as “available” given that I have a child. I wonder if he just doesn’t think of me that way. And he has a number of female friends, so it could well be that I’m just one more. I have a good number of male friends too, but none that I’m in contact with so regularly. I’d appreciate any thoughts!
