Thursday dating app

So.... I've sworn off dating apps... hate them generally. But saw a new site/premise called Thursday where you only message and/or meet on Thursdays, in specified bars.

Has anyone else tried it?

Even I’d find that too restrictive, and I’m childfree, work in the City and can generally always find time for a drink!

I think it will attract a young, carefree, childfree, spontaneous sort of crowd. I quite like that it forces spur of the moment decisions and not endless message badminton for weeks, but not much good if you have DC and you’re ultimately looking for somebody who understands that you have to work your life around them.

Funnily enough, so far I'm speaking to one man with kids but they live the other side of the country.

I think it's meant to be spontaneous and young but have noticed people in 40s on there. I like it because you can only access it on Thursdays, so you don't spend/waste your time on the app otherwise.

You should try it!

Gathering by what it says, I think, but not certain it's maybe for Londoners, but I could be totally wrong!

I didn't realise it was an app - thought it was just events. I've thought about going but I think I'd find it too awkward walking into a huge event alone, knowing everyone there was checking each other out!

It's both an app and events from what I can gather.

I like the idea that you can just use it on Thursdays but what I did with a few men was we just swapped numbers early on instead. Otherwise what's the point and apparently you get unmatched or something so lose all your matches!

I was speaking to someone on the app last night and they thought the events would indeed be awkward if you knew everyone was there checking you out!

I did go to one of these events a few years ago by one of the big dating sites in a bar in the City, it was ok but a bit awkward and some of the men were quite clumsy/awkward (bless them!) - I don't think it's necessarily the best way to meet people!
