Does he like me?

I used to get a different driver delivering my supermarket food shop each week but for the last 5 months it is always the same driver. He always has a chat with me about all sorts, once we spoke for 15 minutes whilst he told me about his job (he's the store manager, so not sure why he is out delivering all the time as I order food on different days) and his future plans and he asked me about my job. The other week there was a second person with him and they apologised for him as he was on the phone and couldn't come and see me. He seems really nice and I'm not sure if I am being an idiot or if he is interested in me.

Is this one of the major supermarkets? If you google that store it will list the name of the store manager. A store manager doubling up as a delivery driver, something doesn’t add up……

AnElegantChaos · 04/06/2022 18:44

That sounds quite odd, especially if it's one of the major supermarkets. I rarely see the same driver twice and I often order for the same times each week. If a smaller company would make sense though.

Agree - are we talking major supermarket? If so he won’t be the store manager and I’m surprised he can afford to spend an extra 15 minutes.
That aside… some people are chatty so he could be chatty and flirty, or he might be interested. But I’d be wary of going out with someone I don’t really know but who knows where I live!

I reckon he's just being polite and chatty :) given its your local store.

MistyFrequencies · 04/06/2022 19:02

In my experience if a man is interested they'll let you know. If they don't, they're just being friendly. So I'd say he's probably just a chatter.

GreyCarpet · 04/06/2022 19:41

I'd also check that he's the actual manager.

It's also in the best interests of smaller stores to keep their customers happy.

He could be interested. Heterosexual men are generally interested in women and, to be quite blunt about it, and in my experience, you only have to be vaguely attractive and reasonably amenable for them to take an interest in you. Beyond that, it's down to chemistry.

dumdumduuuummmmm · 04/06/2022 19:45

We can't possibly know. Just keep chatting and it will be apparent one day. Don't over think. Just enjoy!

Pinkbonbon · 04/06/2022 20:20

I think that if a lot of his chat revolves around him and what he does then he may just be a bit of a pompous sort who needs attention. As is e asked what you do though, then that might be a sign he is interested in you.

It would depend on the follow up though.
Eg: If afterwords he was immediately turning the conversation back to himself in some way or making it seem like your job/status was somehow inferior to his or if he started telling you all about YOUR job...then I'd assume again that he was just your typical blowhard. Same thing goes if whenever you speak, you feel you have to rush what you say because he clearly wants to be talking again. That's a narcissist.

Generally if they are interested, you'll know it. This sounds like it might just be someone who either likes to gab or just likes the sound of his own voice too much.

I always get the same Iceland’s driver, no matter what time or day I order! Never have with Tesco’s and never see the same one twice so maybe it’s an Iceland’s thing?! However nothing you posted suggested he likes you more just being friendly
