Making friends

I have friends but a lot of them are busy these days with their families or fiances which I understand.

I joined a Facebook social group and have been to some events. One was at a park and everyone was friendly. I have been to some of the pub quizzes but find people are cliquey and don't like newcomers. Last night one woman tried to manipulate an innocent comment I made into something it was not.

I was also part of the social group organiser chat and myself and some others left the chat as we were fed up of the abuse from other organisers who were quite toxic and bitching about group members. If we challenged them they got nasty.

I have contacted Ladies Circle a social group who said they would add me to WhatsApp chat but never did.

Can anyone recommend anywhere to make friends? I'm not desperate for friends but it would be nice to be able to do things with nice people. I don't want to walk around on eggshells at groups.

Try Meetup, it's brilliant and there are plenty of events you could join.

I am sure you would make a wonderful friend 😊 That first step is hard to take but get yourself out there.

Hi. Can I ask which Ladies Circle group you contacted as some have recently closed, and others opened back up. I'm a member and love it. I can find out for you if that group is still running if you'd like?
