Do you wear pants in bed when you are sharing a bed with a partner you don’t live with?

Was wondering what others do/ think. I don’t live with dp but we stay at each other’s houses 5 nights a week. I prefer not to wear anything, he prefers NOT to be naked. I think it’s a bit odd. His choice of course.
perhaps it’s just me.

Apart from when having a heavy period l sleep naked.

l’ve never slept with anyone who has worn pants in bed.

zeroinspiration · 03/06/2022 09:07

Can I assume those of you that sleep naked don't live in an earthquake prone country? Grin

My first thought when someone mentions they sleep naked is, 'But but earthquakes! Are you mad?!?!'
I have to remind myself this is the UK and earthquakes don't seem to be a thing.

I am from an earthquake prone country and middle of the night earthquakes are not unheard of. Imagine if you were naked on top of that and running for your life in your half asleep state!

StarlightLady · 03/06/2022 10:16

If l had to get up in the night for an earthquake or any other similar emergency, the last thing l would be bothered about is being seen naked.

I expect anyone who saw me would also have a body.

I don't like sleeping naked wherever or whomever I'm sleeping with. Modesty or embarrassment is nothing to do with it, I just don't find it comfortable. What an odd post. 🧐

iknowthismuchis · 03/06/2022 10:41

Never slept naked in my life. Has nothing to do with how I feel about partners.

TheYearOfSmallThings · 03/06/2022 10:45

You are massively overthinking this. Some people like to wear pants in bed and some don't. Both totally normal. Making a big deal out of it or reading too much into it? Not normal.

Kingharoldshairstyle · 03/06/2022 11:36

If the genders were reversed the op would be slaughtered. If a man said he objected to his girlfriend wearing knickers to bed.

you sound a bit of a sex pest to me op

Fuzzyhippo · 03/06/2022 15:18

I wear pyjamas wherever I'm sleeping, he's never stayed round mine but when I stay at his once weekly I'll still wear pyjamas

Shinyandnew1 · 03/06/2022 15:22

So it’s actually nothing to do with not living together. He prefers to wear clothes in bed and you don’t. Is that the problem? Or are you saying he wears nothing to sleep in when you’re not there?

Agreed, if the sexes were reversed I'd certainly think the man was a sex pest. What's the difference if you are sleeping next to someone with pants on or not? Surely if they were asleep you'd be cuddled up to them, maybe with an arm over them at the most? How is it less intimate with pants?

How is that possible if I don’t say anything to him and don’t pester him for sex?
make it up why don’t you.

You think only single people buy all the nightwear? Rising heating costs means next winter we'll all be in pjs!

NewbieDivergent · 03/06/2022 17:13

I sleep naked,no resident do likes to wear boxers.

NewbieDivergent · 03/06/2022 17:14

Sorry non resident DP that should say.

DrNo007 · 03/06/2022 17:18

My DH always wears pants in bed as he says it keeps everything in place. He takes them off when we have sex.

Stravaig · 03/06/2022 18:23

Not sure you can equate nakedness and intimacy, OP! Most of the year I sleep in merino top, bottoms, socks. Plus fingerless gloves, hat, stole when it's really cold. Unheated bedroom in the wintry north. There is intimacy in delving under layers of clothing to reach bare skin, in the play of ice and heat, in not having it all laid out already.

I don't want icy cold fingers delving anywhere near my bare skin if it's that cold, thank you very much.

KyaClark · 03/06/2022 19:59

I never sleep naked. My gigantic tits need some support or I'll roll on them.

I'd be pissed off if my husband thought he could have any say on the matter.

It's a power-play -- he's telling you that he's the one who wears the pants in your relationship. LTB
