Looks have always been very important for me to be attracted to a man but I've fallen in love with a man who I wouldn't normally have looked twice at but over time I've discovered he is just the most amazing, caring, thoughtful, loving man I've ever been with...we're so on the same page, and for once looks are not important. We've been together 3.5 years and I'm still in love with him, I hope I always will be. Has anyone else experienced this?

Yes. My one 'big love' (which didn't work sadly) was with someone I wouldn't have looked twice at if I'd passed him in the street. We worked together and became friends, then fell deeply deeply in love. Unfortunately we were at different stages of our lives (he was younger) and we couldn't find a way to make it work - that was 12 years ago. I still think about him a lot and compare every man I meet to how he mad me feel (loved, appreciated, heard, secure).
