My friend was hooking up with a woman and she outright told him it was fun only and no relationship. She gave him the cold shoulder when were all out. It was sad to see as I didn't know they had been meeting up. He said he is really cut up about it and said they had a good connection and he said emotionally too. Why do people think they can get someone to change their mind through hooking up even though that person told them no relationship? Just a bit surprised as most men I know don't fall for a hook up.

It's a tale as old as time - two people meet, one falls for the other. It isn't reciprocated. Sad for a while and then they move on. Sometimes the person who is more invested hopes the other one will come around to their way of thinking. But aren't many relationships like this at some point? One person falls more than the other, it doesn't work out. It shouldn't be a big deal.

I think guys like a challenge. So the fact that she told him what she wanted from the offset didn't deter him. It just made it more exciting.

Ime loads of men fall very hard for women who don't want a relationship with them. A woman who makes no demands, gives them limitless freedom and has sex with them is very attractive indeed. Add to that the dent to their ego that a woman doesn't see them as the love of her life, and he'll be fawning around like a puppy trying to win her over.
I think its more accurate to say men generally don't fall for women they only want to hook up with if said woman falls for them.
