Age range

I'm a couple of weeks away from turning 40, and have recently set up a profile on a dating app. So far, I'm just being nosy and haven't matched with anyone. Just can't seem to take that bold step!

Anyway, I have my preferred age range set between 36 and 42.

Just wondering what others have or would have?

Or, if you are 40, what's the age difference between you and your partner?

Not sure I'm restricting myself too much, but can't really imagine dating someone outside those ranges. 43 and over feels considerably older than me, even though I know it isn't, and my little brother is 35, so that feels really young!

Most guys seemed to be lying about their age when I briefly attempted OLD last year. I'm 45 and had mine set 38 to 52 or something. Well, either the 50 year olds were lying or they've all had really hard lives as they looked WAY older.
Someone who I know who is 60 told me he puts himself on as 48 to fall into the search categories of women in their 40s. Says he's not interested in 50 year olds. He's a particularly unpleasant person but that's a story for another day.

I've just turned 40 and if I was OLD I would set my limit to 25 to 55.

I agree with others that your age range is quite specific and is limiting the pool massively.
When my marriage ended, I always thought I’d only ever go 5 years older than me at the most.
Instead, I met a wonderful man who’s 15 years older than me completely out of the blue, and it’s the healthiest, most fulfilling relationship I’ve ever been in 🤷🏻‍♀️
