Looked at his phone for the first time.

So, he’s drunk, I’ve finally seen his password. He keeps his phone hidden at all times.
I had a look, he’s been in touch with his ex friends with benefits. (Who he said had asked him to never contact her again as she was hurt) Just chat, with a few compliments. But do I say anything? He’s been chatting to her recently. I hate lies/secrets.

Bin.
Kick him out.
Whatever.
You don't trust him and he's clearly untrustworthy, so out he goes, with the rest of the sewage.

Hairbear2 · 24/04/2022 04:00

I have many reasons to end it, I think this lying has just confirmed it for me. There’s a big part of me wants to let him know I know, but then I look bad for looking at his phone. Or do I admit I wondered why he was so secretive with it?

Why waste your time? You'll just get more lies and bullshit. Just get rid of him.

Let him wonder. Don’t waste your energy, you can’t trust him.
You are worth more, 💐

Pesimistic · 24/04/2022 06:17

I'd just end it.

girlmom21 · 24/04/2022 06:19

Just dump him.

I wouldn’t ever look through my partners phone in the first place. If i felt a need to do that I’d already be ending the relationship. But now he’s proved you were right not to trust him.

Findingneeemo · 24/04/2022 06:21

Don’t give him the satisfaction of knowing you looked at his phone.

If you don’t live with him ghost him. Or just dump by text with a simple message. Let him wonder why you are no longer interested.

Do you live with him?
If you don't live with him, I would delete, block and ghost him.
That's all he deserves.

totallyoutnumbered · 24/04/2022 11:07

From shit tons of experience here, save yourself further inevitable hurt and get rid. Plenty of people don't cheat. This one does OP

CrowAndArrow · 24/04/2022 11:09

Don't tell him you looked at his phone. Just dump him.

Picklybilly88 · 24/04/2022 21:37

Just done the same and feel guilty, but found out he is messaging a new friend and has met for a drink!!! I just hate men right about now

seensome · 24/04/2022 21:44

If you do say anything he will gaslight you, telling you she's just a friend. You said you had many reasons to dump him anyway, just get rid.

Trivester · 24/04/2022 21:49

He’s blocking the space where a nice, trustworthy boyfriend might be. Don’t waste time.

Useranon1 · 24/04/2022 21:56

If you have to look at his phone then your relationship is over. You clearly don't trust him and feel betrayed by him, and he has every right to feel betrayed by you too.

ihatebeinganadult · 24/04/2022 22:10

It sounds like he's already cheated on you and you decided to stay with him, how long had he been seeing her for? What's your current living situation and are there kids involved?

ExtraOnion · 24/04/2022 23:05

If you are at the point where you are sneaking passwords, and snooping through a phone , it’s can’t really be much of a relationship. What’s the point ?

Soultrader · 24/04/2022 23:07

You hate secrets and lies but you're the one snooping on his phone?

wobytide · 24/04/2022 23:08

Neither of you are going to make this work

Desperate times. I have done the same. Although I guessed something was up. It’s just a relief to know you are right in suspicion and not going bonkers

Thesefeetaremadeforwalking · 25/04/2022 00:01

So he's a cheating drunk?

Not much more to say really except that the sooner you start packing his bags the better...

Soultrader · 25/04/2022 08:46

Still not ok. If the trust has gone to the extent that you're snooping like that then it's not a relationship.
