Birthday treat

For my 40th in December my husband presented me with an envelope and a piece of paper with a picture of Venice. Anyway he still hasn’t organised a trip ANYWHERE for my very belated birthday present! Now I told him I wasn’t expecting a grand gesture for my birthday but this nonsense of we’re going to Venise and nearly 5 months later we’ve been nowhere is ridiculous!!!!!! We had a huge barmy tonight because he’s going to his mums in 2 weeks weeks for her birthday which will mean an expensive train ticket and present and this weekend he’s taken a dnother day off work to go and help his parents out!!!! He doesn’t understand why I pointed all this out to him tonight and slammed the door in a strop! For my 40th I got a cable for a phone charger and a candle from the kids and nothing from him!!!!!! I’ve spent the last 20 minutes stupidly crying over this !

I'd be disappointed too, in your shoes. I think the crux of your upset is that he hasn't prioritised you or made you feel special. You're not being unreasonable. You need to clearly communicate your feelings to him. Don't expect anything to change unless you speak up.

My DH is very generous and means well but for my upcoming 40th I have booked us a long weekend with family, the pair of us a weekend in a spa hotel and a one nigher with friends. I know I'd be left disappointed if I left it up to him, despite meaning well, so now I book it myself and I know I'll enjoy it.

I wanted to organise it myself but he kept telling g me he was doing it. For the last nearly 5 months he’s been saying we will go somewhere but the point is it’s too late, I’m so upset it’s ridiculous!

What an arse he is. Take yourself somewhere.
