Tinder Gold - do they do free trials?

Discovered my H had membership to this and expired in January this year.

He claims he downloaded it "for a laugh" and out of curiosity as a mate at work had it.

The fact he downloaded it makes me feel physically sick, but I've assumed it was a free trial. I've just googled it and it seems they don't really offer a free gold trial. It makes me feel much worse to think he's paid for this especially when he's always banging on about how skint we are.

Either way I'm obviously upset, but wondering if anyone knows if he could have got it for free? He reckons he deleted the app the same day.

What exactly is tinder gold? Really good looking people?

Tinder is free to download. Tinder Gold is a paid upgrade to unlock additional features. Gold is occasionally offered to basic users on a first-month-discounted basis but I don't think it would ever be offered on a free trial basis, it's how the developers make their money.

You get to see who's liked you, and have the option to scroll back if you swipe the wrong way and miss someone etc.

TBH the fact that he downloaded it at all is screaming red flags to me - if you're curious, look on your mates phone, to download it and look, you have to have a profile. Did setting up a profile with a photo not make him pause and think this was overstepping a massive relationship boundary?

It's not a laugh really, is it.

My ex, I'm convinced now in hindsight was on dating sites. I remember watching him on his phone and asking him wise app he was on, as the hand movements were really weird. After we split (a long time after!) I joined the apps and noticed a familiar pattern - swipe, touch, scroll. Swipe to move to the next profile, touch to expand the profile, scroll to look through the profile.
