Good advise if you have fallen out with a loved one/close relative but totally inappropriate if it’s an ex who is in a happy marriage/relationship and you put the cat amongst the pidgins.
I’m definitely not someone who goes to bed without resolving a fight, but I will not be contacting someone I may carry a torch for just to make sure they are aware I have or had feelings for them.
I’ve recently had breast cancer and had to face my own mortality. The last thing I wanted to deal with is old lovers coming out of the woodwork professing undying love for me. They would definitely been shown the door. My priority was my immediate family.

People will have different views on that OP, but I agree with you.
