Why do people do this? I find it disgusting behaviour and really cruel.

My dad had tendencies like this when I was younger. Last week, I was upset (life events) and my dad leaned right in. Calling me all manner of names. Pathetic, a loser, that I'm looking for attention, selfish and other things.

I warned him to stop and he carried on and on and on. Something in me snapped and we had a massive argument. He started crying.

I left the house and we haven't spoken since.

My mind can't make sense of it.

Flowers So sorry this has happened to you. It's not you, it's him.

Does he have form for trying to turn any and all the attention onto him?

Leaning right in sounds particularly deliberate.
