He would be arrested, or asked to attend a voluntary interview, and if he confesses could well go to prison.

If he confesses they may press charges. If he denies it probably nothing would happen as it’s so hard to prove. My ex raped and sexually assaulted me multiple times over several years, but it’s almost impossible to prove in court.
Have your contacted Rape Crisis or womens aid OP for some real life support?

Minimum sentence for rape is 4 years ... if found guilty of course.

The sentencing guidelines would put my ex away for a good 10 years. But evidence that will stand up in court is hard to provide within an abusive marriage. So many rapists go unpunished. OP what makes you sure he would confess?
