What’s wrong with him?

My DH is a lazy fucker. That’s all I’m thinking but wondered if IABU. At weekends all he wants to do is sit on his phone on the sofa. At any chance he gets he will opt to go for a nap. If I ask him to do things he’ll do them, with a moan. He’ll come out with me and the kids and do things together, with a moan but left to his own devices he just wants to sit there and fester. What the fuck is wrong with him? Is this normal behaviour? Anyone else got a lazy husband?

How do I deal with the rage I get too that because the kids are both napping he things he can take himself off for a nap? What about the million things that need doing in the house? Why doesn’t he give a shit?

I should add I don’t think he’s depressed.

Has he been like this for a long time? What hours does he work? Is his job very stressful?

I mean he could be really knackered. Or he could be opting out of family life.

He sounds lazy. Threaten to leave.

Loopytiles · 20/03/2022 19:46

What ages are the DC?

Sexnotgender · 20/03/2022 19:48

Lazy arse.

How old are your children?

NewDayNewLife · 20/03/2022 19:49

Sorry OP, he does sound lazy. But is he enthusiastic about life in general (so for example, if an event for his hobby were to occur, would he have the energy for that?) That would tell you if he was lazy and tired/depressed or just lazy. Either way though, it's his responsibility to deal with the issue.

Toloveandtowork · 20/03/2022 19:49

Family life can be a bit shit, so he's leaving it to you to carry the can.

anotheranon22 · 20/03/2022 20:04

DC are 5 and 1. No he’s not enthusiastic about anything in general, just work. He loves his job. He doesn’t have any hobbies outside work.

If I suggest something fun he’ll want to do that. It’s like everything he left to me and he has no get up and go to organise anything or do anything unless I make it happen.

he sounds burned out to me
