Ok so I need to work the next 2 Saturdays and my son has basketball matches on Saturday. Unfortunately the next 2 matches are about a 40 minute drive away. Anyway husband announces to me tonight that he will be taking the car and not his works van (which his company pays petrol for)! And I have to get an Uber to and from work !!!! He says he’ll pay but I’m like what??? Thts ridiculous I need the car and you get the petrol paid by your company ! What a waste of money I’m fuming!!!

His employer should not be paying for your DC sports petrol runs. What a bloody cheek! You should be ashamed.

GreenFingersWouldBeHandy · 16/03/2022 18:43

His van will only be insured for him during HIS working hours. You are an idiot and an absolute chancer.

UserMl · 16/03/2022 18:45

Why should we be ashamed ? It’s in his contract!!!! My husband has a high pressured role within the company works overtime which he’s not paid for! Tree je petrol is a bonus which his boss has given him !!!!!

The Op is correct, vans can be private use if it's registered for PIID so he is probadly paying a large amount of tax for the benefit of private use.

An uber is crazy, what if you refuse? Is he annoyed he will have to step up to parenting on Sat?

Op has already stated that DH is allowed to use the van outside of work hours so not sure why you've responded like this!

You should apologise for your two bizarrely angry posts, considering OP literally explained:

Yes he’s allowed to use it at Weekend and holidays it’s Written in his contract

@GreenFingersWouldBeHandy - never mind green fingers, reading the OP's post would be handy.
Bizarre outburst

Thank you, I thought it was very agressive! No need for it
