Getting back with ex

I have an ex from about 9/10 years ago who I've kept in contact with as friends over the years, we have both had other relationships etc. and I have a child now (not his!).

We didn't have a bad breakup, just were a bit young at the time I think as neither of us can really remember why we broke up except I was off to uni.

In the last year we have both become single and have been talking more and more. He's suggested we give things another go dating.

He was lovely when we dated really and still lovely now. Has supported me as a friend for years now!

Am I being crazy that I think this could work? Confused

My family (mainly my mum) isn't very keen on him as we were both pretty dramatic and sad about the break up back then, everything is the end of the world when you're young Grin

Anyone else dated an ex again from your younger years and it worked out? Were your family and friends supportive?

I just have! I was seeing a guy 10 years ago for a short while and then we ended because of things that were out of our control. We stayed in occasional contact and met up at the end of a night out in August. I sort of thought it might be casual but he moved in after Christmas and it’s brilliant. I think there’s maybe a reason you stay in touch with people? Has to be worth it I suppose.

It might work, it might not. Nobody can advise you.

Keep your boundaries strong, don't stay with anyone who makes you feel bad. Enjoy the fun!
