New to this digital dating etiquette

Hi there

Just a quick one I am separated from my husband and on Friday went out on a date on Friday. This person is a decade younger than me and (I have kids) we really got on walked me back home etc. Where we get to the bit I am clueless about is the WhatsApp part so any advice gratefully received. I was like did you get home ok etc all that stuff responded nice and that I said right that’s great had a good time really enjoyed it thank you. Haven’t heard nothing since I am thinking maybe I should have heard something now so is this a write off? The last time I was dating was the days of texting and not all that long ago I suppose I feel like a relic. This person seemed to like me (but remember what you think isn’t always the case) I liked this person and think they liked me but maybe I am wrong whats should I do? Thank you

Quite honestly, yes if you haven't heard since your date then he's not interested.

@iwishu thank you for your honesty I had a feeling that may be the case but was being particularly needy haha! Right will draw a line move on and get on :) I think I as fooled by the chivalrous act of walking me home (but maybe the fact I didn’t invite in!?) who knows onwards and upwards!

I agree with pp about him not being interested, but curious as to how WhatsApp is different to texting in this scenario?

I know it's confusing sometimes, I once went on a date, he kept holding my hand and snogged me but the next day he said he didn't feel the spark, so you never really know how a first date feels about you.

Thought I had replied there but yes I do agree @Chocoqueen there is very little difference but I am new to the post marriage dating scene and the landscape of dating and my life has turned 360 since my childless single days! I think the difference I see if the fact the other person can view if you have checked the messages and the time stamp which to be honest makes no difference as I don’t think they want to pursue another date but makes me feel slightly cringey all the same!

Cynical me would think he walked you home in the hope he might come in for sex. Then moved on when he did not get what was planned. This is no great loss to you, as there will be others out there.

I am very much like you and thought the same being honest and thank you for your positive words!

I will have a think I did feel a connection but that could be me getting giddy being out on the dating scene again(can I just preempt this before anyone reads and cringes by saying I’m not trying to relive my younger dating years that would just be not me!) but I should be more confident and maybe consider that!
