... just that really. I don't see him any more at all, but it gives me a jolt. Would it creep you out?

Unless it’s him then no it wouldn’t.

LubaLuca · 13/02/2022 21:26

What do you mean it gives you a jolt? You think your ex is in fact the murderer?

SnowyPetals · 13/02/2022 21:31

Was he named before the murderer committed their crimes? I suppose slightly more odd if the murderer was already well known when your ex was born, but not something I would spend much energy on.

ISmellBurnings · 13/02/2022 21:32

Um…no.

shaneTwane · 13/02/2022 21:33

My old optician had the same first and last name as my dad's cousin who was a murderer. Didn't creep me out I just made the connection and got on with it.

PrettyBluebells · 13/02/2022 21:38

Erm, no. Not sure why it would.

CoffeeRunner · 13/02/2022 21:45

Is it a rare name?

Assuming you don't mean that you think the murderer could actually be your ex then no, it's not really creepy.

I suppose if I ever met a Levi Bellfield (for example) I would make the connection because it's an unusual name. A Steve Wright not so much as there are probably one or two in every town.

TheDoveFromAboveCooCoo · 13/02/2022 21:50

My friends dad was called Peter Sutcliffe. Obviously it wasn't ATHE Peter sutcliffe and people would have a joke when they first heard his name.

Bit weird for an ex's name to give you a jolt though?

Skeam · 13/02/2022 21:54

I know an Ian Huntley and an Ian Brady, and I used to know a Mary Bell.

No of course not, I know it isn't him. Seeing his name in print and headlines is a shocker though! And I have been teased about it.

No, this wouldn't creep me out

Teeturtle · 13/02/2022 22:12

No, not at all.

GreyCarpet · 14/02/2022 07:08

No Confused

Why would it?

Of course you'll have been teased about it. That's what people do. It's a real non event though.

ClariceQuiff · 14/02/2022 07:23

It's likely to be a very common and forgettable name and once the news has faded from the front page, people will stop making the connection.

It is.
