(Sorry didn't know where to put this thread)
Things you wished you'd said, done, not put up with etc in your 20's?

University. Not for career reasons because I’ve done OK, but it would have given me a broader view of the world and made me less vulnerable, less of a people pleaser.
Note: I was in my 20s in the 80s - wouldn’t fancy today’s version.

Better career choices
Girls holiday
Dated more men
I had achieved a lot though I my twenties, I got married, had children, bought a house
It's only now in my forties it's somehow it all went wrong even though I'm supposed to be more mature. I am now making up for dating more men and I have a better career, my children are growing/grown up so I don't regret or feel I missed out on anything.

Kissed more boys. The silly kisses in nightclubs where I didn't bother exchanging phone numbers. But I wished I'd done more of that

Started pension contributions. Saved instead of getting into debt. Been less wild. Had better self esteem.

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 13/02/2022 21:45

Bought a house.

Travelled more

SarahJessicaPorker · 13/02/2022 22:06

I wish I'd stayed in more and drunk less tbh. Not sure why I was such a party girl except that it was maybe expected of me.

Tellthemagain · 13/02/2022 22:08

kept my weight down a bit more as its so hard to shift later on

Stinkywizzleteets · 13/02/2022 22:10

I wish I’d shagged around more. I had the same boyfriend for my entire 20s and he was dull as dishwater. I feel I wasted uni not having at least one one night stand.

Mossstitch · 13/02/2022 22:45

Stayed single🤣

I wish I'd bought a flat. Why the hell did I talk myself out of it? I'd been working since 17 and had a good deposit saved. I could have done it, even at the tender age of 20.

Then bought another flat. And maybe a fixer-upper.

Then found a second job and bought even more property. My life would be much easier now if I hadn't second-guessed myself back then.

Started moisturising my neck. Also, avoided sun beds, what a waste of money and stupid health risk!

Other than that I am pretty proud of my 20s and feel like I made the most of them.

nutellingyou · 14/02/2022 07:11

Bought a house. There were some beautiful cottages for sale and I didn't think I'd be able to afford one, looking back I probably could have. They're worth so much more now.
