I love this clip from Sex and the City, but does love like this exist? Does anyone feel like this?

I hate that clip. It’s so cringe and unrealistic. Love shouldn’t be all consuming. That’s obsession not love.

Love is compromise and companionship in my opinion.

What she is describing would more likely be one sided - and then you find out they are a total narcissist who was love bombing you.

Love should not be inconvenient or all-consuming. That's just a toxic mess. If you go through life craving nothing but the buzz, you have to be aware it will come with a burn.

Love should make your life a little brighter. A little warmer. A little more flavourfilled. And yes, some heady thrills are a bonus. But thrills and butterflies alone are not love and they are not sustainable.

Look for a spark of course. But substance is also vital. And avoid the fires, because fires burn bright But then, they burn you...and then they burn out.

I can’t bear Carrie so would take anything she said with a pinch of salt. Sounds like love-bombing/limerence.

Yeah it does sound quite fantastical but just a little bit of that would be nice!

It’s very reflective of her relationship with Big, where they fucked up several other relationships and their own mental health over the course of the series and films. So she got what she wanted. It’s not realistic.

The series had jumped the shark by then. The Russian guy was not a good love interest. I was team Aiden. The scene where he proposed was my fave. It's a shame the actor who played him wasn't good looking because the character was great.

That quotation is an accurate reflection of their cover or belt of thrill seeking and the fact continuously damaging relationship with Big . Even in death he’s messing with her head.
I watched this latest series and thought the characters were pitiful. I was heartily disappointed. The sass and joke de cover has gone and instead there is a hotchpotch of cliche and neuroses.
And interestingly this time round a man - Steve - is getting shat all over which is a nice twist. Not

He was a lovely guy but she never loved him. Love the earlier post about all consuming and toxic!

But Carrie was an unrealistic self obsessed brat who was horrible to poor Aiden. Who I think was lovely looking and would have been much better off with me someone else.
