Anonymous Valentines card

I have received an anonymous Valentines card through the post. The man has said he has admired me for a long time and he thinks I have a nice bum. I'm not sure if I am supposed to be flattered. A man in his 40s who lacks confidence and has only referred to my looks/body parts is not someone who I would consider as a life partner. I just find it creepy doing it anonymously.

@PeanutShell01 In the card he has put:

For you (my name)

'With all my love' - These words were in the card and he has put hyphens around them.

From someone who has admired you for a long time.

All my love and lots of it.

Your Valentine xxxx

You got a nice bum too!

He is illiterate too.

Was your ex illiterate? Does it sound like something he would say?

TurnStone · 10/02/2022 19:21

Once I received an anonymous valentine at work in the internal mail (huge building) it said something about liking my smile and working on the same floor of that building. It seemed quite sweet but I was still creeped out by it and never found who it was.

@UmbrellasAndToadstools25 My ex was illiterate and it sounds childish and seedy as he liked to focus on body parts and not personality. He was a sex addict which makes me think the person who wrote the card objectifies women like he did.

Call the police

RedCandyApple · 10/02/2022 19:28

The police? Confused

NeesAndToes · 10/02/2022 19:30

Yes.. if its a chance its creepy ex. Not the emergancy number obviously.

RedCandyApple · 10/02/2022 19:46

I don’t think the police will investigate a random anonymous Valentine’s card in the post, there is no proof it’s her ex and they haven’t had contact in 10 years

UmbrellasAndToadstools25 · 10/02/2022 19:56

I do get the feeling it's someone who knows you well, but that's just my impression and could be wrong.

DerAlteMann · 10/02/2022 21:57

@NeesAndToes

Call the police
Who will do what?
NeesAndToes · 10/02/2022 22:05

Keep record of it should things escalate

RedCandyApple · 10/02/2022 23:04

I really don’t think the police are going to “keep a record” of an anonymous valentines card with no proof it’s her ex from 10 years ago, it’s nice you have such high expectations of the police but they don’t even want to investigate actual crime. It’s not a crime to send a valentines card for all we know it could be someone doing it for a joke.

@NeesAndToes

Keep record of it should things escalate
I've spotted a 'log it with 101' in the wild
