Not sure if I am weird, easily pleased or a pushover!!

My husband is going away skiing with the kids over half term. I've said I dont want to go or waste money on something i don't like, trouble is they will be away for my birthday and then valentines day so am missing out on both with my family and partner. Cant face skiing though!

Am i weird to think this is the best gift ever "a bit of peace" and hanging out with my mates.

Would you be happy with that or am i being too soft?

Who cares if its weird if it makes you happy ;)

For the record though I would be bloody delighted. Love some alone time, even better to have the house to myself! Then you have the lovely feeling for actually missing the noise and chaos towards the end of it and the happiness when they return, its lovely.

Sounds like the best birthday ever.

A few years ago, my friend’s husband, insisted on the family going abroad for a wedding. The groom was a distant relative of her husband’s, the wedding was in the back-end of beyond, and going would put the family in debt.
My friend said no, he took the kids (no more information as it will be too outing!!!), she spent two week’s child free, having a great time!!

It's not weird. I think it's brilliant and something that I would do !
If you think you may feel abandoned, just look at it differently.
Your birthday - do it your way. Do everything you love, eat whatever you want, please yourself.
Regarding missing Valentine's day, make up for it on return ! 😉

Oh am sooooo jealous. Dp never takes them anywhere. Take them for a week! Blimey. But he works you know. ( sorry, feeling a bit grumpy tonight!)

Sounds good to me !

Bloody hell no! I am having a Galentine's Day with my girlfriends for my first single V-Day in years. Bring it on.
