I’ve said this (as a female) to a friend who wanted much more (a relationship.
Why? Because I only want to be friends with him, nothing more.

I've been in this situation and my deduction was that he liked everything about me (friendship, emotional connection, companionship)...but there was no sexual chemistry for him. Nothing has ever happened between us.
