Living apart together

I'm currently still living at home with my mom but have been thinking about the future (living situation wise) and I know that I will want to live alone, I wouldn't want to live with a man. I really enjoy my own space/company. I like everything to be pink and girly, I like sleeping in the middle of my bed. So after 20 something years why am I expected to start sharing because of a relationship? Can living apart together make a relationship fall apart or can it be a good thing? (I'm 23 not currently dating but just things for me to consider) if I want to have a baby does that mean me and my partner would HAVE to live together? I hate the feeling of being smothered by someone and would much rather have a relationship where we can live seperately but still have a healthy relationship. What are your experiences with LAT?

Tbh it would be odd to have a child and not live with the father but still be in a relationship with them and confusing for the kid but not something you have to worry about now as you are not in that situation, I think if you were you would think differently

There is a facebook group called Apartners Living Apart Together where you'll get more input.

LAT is still fairly uncommon but becoming more common.
Its perfectly possible to LAT and have children.

I'm going to LAT with my partner, we have no intention of living together but are committed.
We both have children already and don't want more so we don't have that to think about.
