Can’t quite believe it but after 6 years post divorce, I have met the kind of man that I wish I’d met in my twenties. Very happy.

We both have children (his old, mine early teen) so fairly flexible in terms of getting together. It’s working out to be a coffee and a long once during the week and then dinner and drinks at the weekend. We haven’t had sex yet (2 months in) as I’ve said I would like to take that side very slowly. Lots of lovely kissing etc and looking forward to that side but not for a while.

Anyway! Looking for some ideas for “date” activities. Why suggestions?

Go-karting
Horse trekking
Go ape
Gin tasting evening
Second hand bookshop to browse for ages find a book you think the other would like then off to the pub to dissect the choice
Wild swim

These would float my boat anyway. Grin

Lovely ideas thanks!

Will suggest bracing walk on local beach
And love the idea of bowling!

Also thought about suggesting he join me at gym for a swim and jacuzzi…. Too much?

I second comedy night - sit at the first row so that you’ll both get picked on by the comedian. It’s so much fun!!
Nice concert in a romantic venue (eg Wigmore if in London).

All the very best - this is so lovely to read. Mid-40s
and cynical I’ll ever meet a decent man.

I can’t quite believe it actually Just wish I’d met him 20 years ago But then again I wouldn’t have the children I do… and I would change them for anything

I was in the first flush of love as you put it back during Lockdown 1.0 2020. Obviously back than "date opportunities" were extremely limited. Think - virtual movie nights, walks when we were allowed - lots of video calls LOL.
I can honestly tell you it does not matter what kind of date you go on - if you're into each other - you will have a good time. Grin

Good luck and enjoy this bit - it is soooo good. (I'm also in my forties)

@Toanewstart22 gym and swim sounds great to me too.

what about museums and galleries? or monuments/historic places in your local area?

Walks in the woods etc...

Do you have common interests like both in to music or history or music, doing something related to something you are both already interested in? What sort of thing do you enjoy doing when on your own?

I think also things that let you get to know each other really well, like meeting his friends?

I am a bit jealous! How long have you been single for and how did you meet him?
