Rude guy

Got talking to a guy over Christmas, nothing much just chatting, added him on social media and asked for his number (never do this!) he asked 'why' I wanted it and I told him I thought he was handsome 😬he replied by saying his mother also thought that as well! A simple no you can't have my number would have done, feeling like a t**t 😬

I mean, that could be arrogance or it could be a cheeky flirt. I suppose if he didn't add anything else like 'sorry but I dont give out my number' ect
...then yeah, probably the first one.

Sounds like he either just wants to chat on social media for the ego stroke or, he just isn't interested in you in that way but felt there was no harm in the social media add.

Either way though, looks like at best, your communication styles would be a mismatch.

But don't let it put you off taking initiative with others in future.

You called it right - he's a rude twat. He probably thinks he has a scorching wit. Just bin this one and move on. Most men aren't like this.

Thank you, I won't let it put me off, just wondered if I was being sensitive 😂wanted to start my year on a positive note, but wasn't to be 😬

I don’t think he’s flirting like suggested he would have given you the number if interested

Why would he give you his number if you weren't making plans to meet up? I agree though, it's a stupid comment and a simple "no" would be better. I am sure you are a nice lady and not a nutter who would call him 50 times a day but he doesn't know that.
