Banned from Tinder

Well this is embarrassing. Tinder has banned me!

I have been on and off it for years. I am currently on holiday so changed my bio to "currently in X. Looking for younger guys for fun".

After several days of an embarrassing lack of luck I changed it to "currently in X. Looking for people to hang out with".

Had a few chats, nothing dodgy. No dodgy pics on my profile, all fully clothed, not even a bikini.

Tried to log in but am banned. I've emailed support but apparently there's no appeals process. Has this happened to anyone else and, if so, did you get back in your account?

There was a guy back home I'd been chatting to who I planned to meet on my return - would be a shame to lose the connection.

Someone must have reported you out of spite as a fake account or a 'professional' sex worker...they probably don't have the time to investigate everyone and automatically deleted your account.

I honestly didn't do anything! And no one knows my login. And no warnings, just couldn't login then told I was banned. There was one young guy I was chatting to who was keen to meet .... Too keen. He lived an expensive taxi ride away and was pushing to stay the night (before we'd even met). This put me off - so I stopped to replying to him. He could have spitefully reported my account? Could they have thought I was fraudulent as I was suddenly thousands of miles away from home? Perfectly legit to go on holiday though?
You advertised that you wanted quick sex with a younger guy He was hardly pushing his luck or being too keen!

Interestingly I recently spoke with a guy who also got banned, seems that they ban you for nothing and its a lifetime ban I believe!!

In his case he is pretty certain a spiteful woman lied to Tinder and they then banned him! No getting the other side.......

“Looking for younger guys to have fun” is a bit creepy. Maybe you got deleted a couple of times if people suspected you were a spam/bot account.

I don’t believe tinder lifetime ban people after one report, unless there’s clear evidence of what they’re being reported for.

Why is it creepy? It's honest. I'm on holiday so not looking for a husband here (in another country).

Plus I'm sporty and fit and many men my age (late 40s) are so... old!

Lots of men make it clear they just want sex so nothing wrong with women doing the same. Might not be everyone's cup of tea but at least it's honest.

When I get back to the UK I'll change it back to "open to seeing what happens" etc.

Either way I'm back on Tinder chatting to some young suitors 😉

No judgement here, lots lots of younger men like older women in a kinds Mrs Robinson/ the Graduate style fantasy.
But if a man said

I'm sporty and fit and many women my age (late 40s) are so... old!

They would torn a new arsehole and called all the names under the sun, as the double standards on this site are so rife, but I like your honest, and I hope you meet some fit young men

"Why is it creepy?"

While I completely accept that we all have preferences - and indeed I'm late 40s and tend to be physically attracted to men in their 20s/30s - using the word "younger" has some uncomfortable overtones for some.

user1471504747 · 11/01/2022 08:15

OP don’t think it’s creepy or weird to just want to have fun, I meant more the “younger” aspect specifically. I’d find it creepy if a man said they were looking for younger women too.

I think it probably just came across a bit odd to people who saw your profile and it’s more likely multiple people you didn’t match with reported you, rather than one person reporting you and them banning you for that.

Perhaps someone reported your account because they thought YOU were being trafficked by a pimp who had created an account for you and Tinder temporarily locked/banned you whilst they investigated.
