Relationship counselling

Hi all, a year or so ago, I read an interesting thread on here where different types of counselling were discussed. I have got to the point where I have to admit to myself that I find it difficult establishing a relationship - I'm fine with friends but have not been successful with a romantic one! I wondered if anyone could suggest the type of counselling that covers this? I do remember some people suggesting a particular type is good for uncovering behaviour in oneself around attachment theories, expectations, trust etc. I'd really appreciate any suggestions, thanks.

Hi! I'm seeing a therapist about similar - it's mostly talking therapy where she challenges me, how I think and helps me explore my childhood. I'd recommend going on the BACP website as you can look for counsellors local to you, and search for specific topics. You can send them initial messages and they usually provide a free initial telephone conversation where you can discuss what you need support with and they can say if they feel they would be able to help.

Good luck!

Thanks so much @ penguinwaddler. I will look there. That sounds very hopeful so thanks for the info. Good luck yourself 😁
