Is it mean to send a ‘no thank you’ text today?

I don’t want to lead this guy on but he’s trying to schedule another date.

And remind me not to date close to Christmas next year!

Why would it be mean?

espressomartiniweeny · 01/01/2022 18:14

Of course not - you can be honest without being mean, better he knows sooner.

TinaYouFatLard · 01/01/2022 18:15

I think it would be more mean not to.

Snoopfroggyfrogg · 01/01/2022 18:17

No, bite the bullet and send a polite 'thanks but no thanks'. Its kinder to let him know sooner rather than later.

Fameous · 01/01/2022 18:17

I think he’ll be disappointed. He seems keen.

And? Are you required to date everyone who is keen?

I don’t really understand this post.

Fameous · 01/01/2022 18:24

No, but I would be a bit disappointed in his place.

I get it. You don’t want him to start off his year with a disappointment in case it sets the tone.

If you think it’ll let him down gentler, text him back tomorrow.

Snoopfroggyfrogg · 01/01/2022 18:29

I'd rather feel disappointed but clearly informed in his place than faded out or allowed to think there was mutual interest when there wasn't.

Snoopfroggyfrogg · 01/01/2022 18:29

But yeah, tomorrow is fine now unless he is asking for confirmation right now x

Luredbyapomegranate · 01/01/2022 18:44

Tomorrow rather than today
