If you are seeing someone causally, how much do you text/talk in the week before meeting up?

If you're seeing someone causally, how often do you speak? Do you chat in the week before arranging to meet or do you just talk to arrange times to meet?
Have recently "rekindled" with an old flame I used to see years ago, we were very casual before and now we've both had children and split up with our respective partners. Wondering how much to message as I do like him.

A funny meme or small chit chat every few days usually is all I'm interested in.
Then obviously arranging to meet up too.
If it's casual I dont think any more than that will work as one person could end up getting feelings

Do you mean a fwb scenario or early dating?
I'd expect more messages between someone in early stages of dating than fwb.
And if you do like him, avoid fwb scenarios. No good for your mh.

I want a fwb scenario, but I think he wants more.. I do like him as a person just don't want to give off the wrong impression that I want more.
