Are we doomed already?

I have been with my boyfriend for 10 weeks after speaking for 9 months, we got to know each other well and decided to make it more serious.
We don’t seem to have had the ‘honey moon period’ whatsoever as of yet and I’m a bit confused. Usually in new relationships they can’t keep their hands off each other and go on dates etc, but we haven’t been like that at all. He says he’s into me and fallen in love with me but wants to take it slow (understandably as there are children involved on both sides), but I’m slightly hurt we haven’t had any romance or passion yet. We have had sex, while it was lovely it wasn’t an intense as I’d imagined if that makes sense. Am I being childish? Is it just what you see in movies and doesn’t happen that way in real life? I’ve never experienced it so I have nothing to go on so any input would be great.

Less than 3 months in and you're posting in a relationship forum for advice? Doesn't sound good.

It could be a slow burn?

Your post is hard ro understand. So you’ve been seeing a guy for ten weeks and had sex, it was more functional than passionate. But bizarrely the weirdo is saying he’s in love with you even though he hardly knows you. Is this right?

The first time I had sex with my ex it wasn't great - no passion, no romance, not very loving. Unfortunately it never got better.
