Can't figure this out

I have been with my boyfriend for 3 months now. I stay over at his house one night every 2 weeks about. A few weeks ago I stayed over and had a shower and forgot to put my underwear back in my bag after. He texted later to say he found it and will put it in the wash with his clothes. Last weekend after shower he said my underwear is under a shirt in his wardrobe so got it and put it on. It looked very like mine and it was only when I got home I realised it wasn't mine. It was same size but the tag was cut off and different shape at back. I never cut tags off. Mine was also v new and this one was v worn(thong) I said it to him next day and said maybe it was his housemates and got mixed up in wash but he said definitely not. I said was it an ex girlfriend and said maybe..He just laughed it off. I feel a bit silly asking again but it's really bothering me. Does anyone else find this strange?

Listen to your gut

This is suspicious.

I'd raise it again in person. His face will tell you everything.

Summer, last month you wrote about this guy’s contemptuous, negging remarks. You felt that you were not good enough for him.

You dress in comfortable clothes that fit your budget and lifestyle as a single mum of 2 young children. This jerk criticizes your clothes/hair and says you have no style. He tells you that you’d look better with ‘nice clothes, long hair and a fake tan.’ He even went so far as to contact his sister’s stylist friend to ask her to advise you.

He showed you a picture of his newly single friend and said she looks so good. You said she was ‘plastered in makeup, fake tan, the best of clothes, boobs out, etc.’ He declared there was something wrong with her bf to break up with someone so lovely.

Posters advised ending things with this nasty piece of work. He wants to control you and make you feel insecure. Why sabotage your and your children’s lives with someone who enjoys diminishing you?

As for the thong? It did cross my mind that it belonged to the above Ms Fantasy Woman or someone similar who’s been coming around.

You’ve been together for 12 weeks , I would end it now if you have doubts, before you waste any more of your life.

Vapeyvapevape · 21/12/2021 23:21

I would also try and spend some time as a single person, have a look at building strong boundaries and learning about yourself and what is and isn’t acceptable in a relationship.

I think as he placed it there and is quite certain it's not his house mates, he knows it's not yours but wanted you to find it.
If @MsDogLady is correct about your previous post he sounds horrendous, ditch him!

spotcheck · 21/12/2021 23:24

Well, of course it's dodgy!

HairyFanjoBanjo · 21/12/2021 23:33

If you find yourself posting on here so regularly into such a new relationship, that in itself is a red flag.

Deep down you know this guy is a horrible prick. The things he has said to you!

Now, random knickers?

Seriously. You can post on here until kingdom come but the bottom line is, this guy is fucking with you and IT WILL ONLY GET WORSE.

Leave now or take a few more months/years of his soul destroying shit and then leave. Either way, this is not your happy ever after.

Based on @MsDogLady post, I'd say he's put it there intentionally for you to find, to get you thinking there's someone else (or has been recently) and to add to your insecurities.

He is deliberately making you feel unsure and bad about yourself. So don't rise to it.... maybe tell him they clearly weren't your knickers and whoever's they are has no taste and buys tacky stuff.

But if all the above is true about his negging, just dump him. He isn't worth it.
