Another unwanted admirer...

On the face of it we have quite a lot in common and are both single, but I'm not interested in that way. Would like to stay on friendly terms if poss though, as he is someone I see regularly. He has asked me out a couple of times, I've made excuses, but think I'm going to have to be firmer if he asks again. What can I say that will cause minimum embarrassment/hurt feelings??? Any ideas?

will he get the idea if you tell him he's a really good friend (etc)? and drop into the conversation that you have an, erm, probably fictious date soon........

just say you are only looking for friends right now

It is many centuries since I confronted this problem but in my experience the embarassment and hurt feelings are inevitable...

Thanks for the suggestions. Likewise krabbie it has been at least a decade since I had this type of situation. Definitely don't want a protracted awkward situation so will have to confront this...
