Just finding it really hard. I can’t relax at all and feel constantly watched.

We need to understand a bit more, Op. How long have you felt like this? How long have you worked there?

Packetssh · 07/12/2021 10:13

@layladomino I’ve been there around 6 years but recently started working for a new manager as well as my old manager, across two departments. The new manager is just really passive aggressive and last time we all met he spent half an hour talking about people he had fired in the past and mocking mental health. I just felt uncomfortable around him. Ive neve been off sick or anything and I was promoted a year ago. I was doing fine before working with him

Can you talk to your old manager about it? Do you have a HR dept you could talk to?
Keep reminding yourself that the new manager's behavious isn't about you, it's about them. They sound like a pretty poor manager. No decent person or good manager takes joy out of sacking people or makes fun of mental health issues. They sound like a deeply insecure idiot TBH.

You have a good record and were promoted a year ago - you have nothing to worry about. If you are doing your job well, then (no matter how much of an idiot they are) your manager will want you around.

But I would urge you to confide in another manager or HR, as their behavious is unprofessional and unacceptable.
