Q re email contacts

On an iPhone, if you search in all mailboxes and type in the search bar and it brings up a load of email addresses… where does it get these from? Could it be from a linked device?

I think it gets them from emails you have emailed before let me check mine

On my I phone it only brings up emails I have emailed before or added on my contacts. This phone used to be linked to my work email so bro go up these also.

Any email I have never emailed I have to type in full.

I don't know for sure but I think it's likely, if it's offering email addresses which aren't in the device you're looking at?

Thank you both, yes it’s offering email addresses I definitely haven’t emailed but I suspect DH has. I’m not even sure how/if our devices are linked as I’ve only recently moved to apple, but my email address is hosted via his domain - I hope that’s the right terminology my emails are also on his iPad. And I know apple Ivan be quite clever at things like that.

Not 100% sure but it could suggest addresses from emails received (so, the user doesn't need to have sent anything to them). I think possibly also if the user has associated apps like LinkedIn with the Contacts feature, it might bring in email addresses from their LI contacts too.

Mine brings up email addresses I've typed into any site though, so for example, whilst working from home (accountancy) every client email address I added into Sage when setting up a new account now comes up in my list of suggested emails, so it needn't be they've actually emailed that person
