How do break ups happen? Hand hold

I’ve been in a long term relationship. He was a great step father figure for my child who is now mid teens and doing her own thing more and more . I’m stressed with work and want to change my jobs. He hadn’t been particularly supportive about how stressed I was at work, was funny about me dropping a few hours, which I have now put my foot down and done.

I’m feeling really lost as I don’t think I see a future anymore and feel more and more irritated by him although we are best buddies at the same time. How do you go about breaking up with someone who you live with? I don’t even know where to start. Do you go quiet for a while to hint to them that it may be coming. He will be absolutely heartbroken as we are his world. Please help me deal with this. Do you do it in the holidays or weekend. How do you broach the subject? How did you know it is definitely the right thing to do? Please help, my anxiety is sitting on my chest.

Who owns the hose for a start, or do you rent. Would you be moving out or him?
