crisis therapist?

Communication between me and DH has always been awful. He has always struggled with his mental health and stress. He has been struggling to function for a while now. He keeps a lot of things to himself, especially about his health, and never seemed to like me prying so I stopped bothering.

We have 2 DCs and the mental and emotional load falls to me entirely as well as work.

An external situation has come to a head tonight and he is in a bad way. He has revealed he speaks to a crisis therapist. He came out with all sorts about how he can't talk to me. We have a lot to work through.

To be honest I was too afraid to ask what a crisis therapist is in case he didn't want to say. Now it's struck me it could be a very serious situation. What does it mean and what can I do?
