Look forward to lower bills, food in the fridge, going away without a worry, their frequent visits. Lots of plusses.

You won’t have to buy so much food.

You can have the house to yourselves, walk around naked, redecorate, have adventures and breathe a huge sigh of relief!

Don't get too comfy... they will all be back!
Our nest is never empty long enough to get cold :)

I’ve been properly empty for six months now after nine years of coming and going from one or more of them, with the first starting uni in 2012 and the last returning from uni.

And now they’re permanently gone. I found them going off to uni the hardest. I still but food for all of us, I’m finding it so hard to stop doing that. I took stock about six weeks ago, yet we’re still eating two freezers worth.

I see them lots though and speak daily so it’s actually rather nice now having a tidy house with minimal washing.

Keep busy and make some plans just for the two of you (and maybe the dog!) While you do it, give yourselves a big pat on the back for having raised strong independent kids ready to go out into the world. Have a project for this winter. You'll soon get used to it and be fine, honestly. 💕
