Filing for divorce and coping with not seeing children everyday...

How do you know when to finally do it? I have seen a solicitor but can't seem to get the courage up to actually do it. Feel stuck in limbo, paralysed by indecision.

The main thing that's holding me back I think is the children. I think we would be looking at 50/50 custody. I think they would be ok, but I'd be heartbroken not seeing them everyday. Anyone have any advice on coming to terms with that?

It just takes time I'm afraid, fill your days 'off' with other things. Friends, hobbies etc. I had to learn to do this over lockdown and was awful but I quite.look forward to the break now. I also make sure I do as much as house work I can etc when dd not here so time with her is concentrated on her!

It has taken years for me to be 'ok' about it and i still hate the fact that they are not here when they go.
I dont communicate much with their Dad and one of the biggest sadnesses is that the children dont hear their parenta discussing/reminiscing over their childhoods and our lives together. I do try and tell them little funny stories and stuff, but i dont think it would be the same.
I often used to wonder if i should have put up with the crap until the children were a bit older before splitting with their dad as i used to worry about them when they werent home and they were little, but now they are older and can voice anything that bothers them, i worry less.
