Divorce lawyers bill

I wonder if anyone can shed some light on this problem.

After a horrendous divorce and me falling apart at the seams, the lawyers are suddenly asking me (a year on) for more money (5k) that apparently I still owe??! They won't send me a break down of what it's for and the bill just literally gives several dates and the amount.

Is this correct??? I assumed they would have to show me what they were charging me for, as in... letters.... emails... time etc?

I’d ask for an itemised bill, when my now DH got divorced there was a bill for everything -4 min phone call to client- 1 letter sent ,10mins Work etc
You can’t pay for something if you don’t know what your paying for

Write/email the firm, preferably your solicitor's departmental senior partner, and ask for an itemised bill. They can't just send a bill without breaking down what it's for

Why won't they give you a breakdown?
