@Floralnomad it totally is. I still know most of the lyrics off by heart and the deep gloom that settles as soon as I hear the intro.
Just remember a bunch of teenage girls sitting in a grotty student halls room round a record player, sobbing and drinking cider. One of us was always in or just past a breakup at any one point so we all wept in sympathy and took turns cuddling the gay best friend of one of us.
Then we went to the union bop, threw ourselves dizzy to ‘Sledgehammer’ and picked up unsuitable bad boys. Those were the days.
