Anyone have any thoughts on what this text means. I'm probably trying too hard to interpret it and the sender wouldn't explain.

U probably need to drink some 🍺🥃🍹🐔

O. I thought that was an ice cream at the end.

SpittinKitten · 07/09/2021 13:51

Have you considered just going full on plain speaking and texting him "when you said 🐔, did you mean penis?". Might be awks but would clear up any confusion pretty quickly Hmm

FeelingUnsureNow · 07/09/2021 14:02

I asked if he meant to put the rooster emoji there and he replied (noting he's had a couple of drinks)
Absolutely bukbukbukeeerrrrkkkkk

I then said I wasn't sure how to interpret it and he said

Chickens rock and so do you

I'd ignore this, wouldn't read it to it all, sounds like he's had a couple of drinks and is just being silly.

The fact he called it a chicken and not a cockerel makes me think he's trying to have a laugh at you for being scared to do something and suggesting a drink for Dutch courage

Would that make sense in the context of the tv show/conversation?

GemmaRuby · 07/09/2021 14:05

It sounds like he’s saying you’re a chicken…
Unless he’s generally lewd and this is an isolated incident I wouldn’t assume it’s a demand to suck his cock.

GreyCarpet · 07/09/2021 14:16

This is why it's useful to give as much info as you can, OP because your latest update just sounds like he was calling you a chicken and not rude at all.

Muchasgracias · 07/09/2021 14:23

@inthekitchensink

Definitely means you need booze & cock Hmm ugh Charmer
Definitely?? Are you the texter then?

I know loads of blokes who use the term ‘hen’ for woman. (As in ‘alright hen?’). I read it as you need to have a drink, hen.

OP is the texter Scottish by any chance?

IveGotASongThatllGetOnYNerves · 07/09/2021 14:27

Well, with the context given I'd say it means you'd probably find it funny if you were drunk.

FeelingUnsureNow · 07/09/2021 14:31

Muchasgracias, he's Australian.
Apologies everyone for the dripfeed. Just reporting as it happens. I'm over-sensitive to things sometimes and know I analyse too much.
So thankful there's a beautiful community out there who can offer other perspectives.

Chickens rock and so do you

is he a 20 year old surfer?

SpittinKitten · 07/09/2021 14:37

Aussie? I had an Australian ex that used to call me chook. I really liked it :) sounds like he was just being cute!

Cuddlemuffin · 07/09/2021 14:41

Why don't you just ask him,' Do your message mean that you think I need some booze and cock? If it did I'm offended'

Cuddlemuffin · 07/09/2021 14:41

*Did

OneToThree · 07/09/2021 14:43

I’d read it as “you need to drink some alcohol (to enjoy the programme) chick (chick, pet, hun etc)

Franklyfrost · 07/09/2021 14:47

He’s drunk. He 100% doesn’t mean drink some cock! He is just randomly hitting emojis because they’re there.

Peace43 · 07/09/2021 14:47

You need an alcoholic drink, chick.

My DP calls me chick and I always assume that’s what he means by any chicken emojis.

GettingItOutThere · 07/09/2021 15:52

drink some alcohol, chill and then get some cock

basically.

Notaroadrunner · 07/09/2021 15:57

Was the movie scary? Could have meant you need to drink if you're too chicken to watch it all?

FeelingUnsureNow · 08/09/2021 06:05

Thanks again everyone. We caught up today and chatted about it. He wasn't intending it to be rude at all. It was as the majority thought. Have a drink and chill. The roster had no relevance other than it being the next suggested emoji on his phone.
