Dh has new job in new area. Feels he’s no good. Works most weekends put off holidays for work meeting. It means as a family we don’t do much, he gets grumpy if I mention it. He’s the sole earner so lot of pressure. How can he push back at work?
Through various things I’ve been out of work for ages. How can I get a job that pays more than £10 ph?

What are you trained to do?

TheAverageUser · 09/08/2021 06:35

Is he working because he can't keep up due to workload or because he needs the extra time to do the basic job because he's new to it?

Hi, I’m an artist/ designer so actually I do have skills to offer! Wasn’t thinking straight.
and yes, it’s both. He’s supposed to be doing 3 hours a week on one project but the boss of that project seems to forget and expect massive amounts - as does the other project bosses.

A leaflet popped through my door yesterday offering cleaning for £12.50ph.
I suppose it depends upon what you are prepared to do.
But be aware that if he’s become addicted to work, no amount of money you earn will change what he’s doing.

Winenota · 09/08/2021 09:35

Addicted to work? Is that a thing? I’m googling right now

And yes, happy to clean, I lost my work, thanks covid. Dh says £12 or so isn’t worth my while. I think it might be worth my sanity though!
