Am I overreacting?

Ex has a new partner of about 4 months, she's met my children less that 10 times over last month (the eldest has met her about 3 times as he refuses to go). She has changed her social media profile to add my children's names to her profile under her family and also has a picture of my children with their dad as profile pic. I could understand if it was a long term relationship but this has made me feel really uncomfortable as she hardly knows them. Ex messaged to say I'm just jealous. Am I overreacting? Should I have just ignored? Maybe she is just trying to be nice .

4 months is very soon. Is that 4 months you've known about their relationship though or actually only 4 months they have been together?

Perhaps she really does think he is the one, who knows, but definitely very soon to be calling your dc family.

However, she is now in their life as dating their dad and is spending time with them.
Look at it this way. She obviously is very fond of your dc and is thinking of them as family and in my view, however crazy that is at this stage, its way better then her wanting nothing to do with them and resenting them in her life/relationship. I know which I'd prefer. If she is genuinely welcoming them in with open arms and not just for 'show', then that is only going to be good for the dc (whether shes there long term or not).

I can see how its making you uneasy, but you can't police what other people put on their social media. (unless there is a safeguarding issue as to why your dc can't be shown on there).

Try to think of the positives here, as its pretty much out of your control.
