Hand hold please - Father taken to hospital

My Dad has been taken into hospital tonight after collapsing at his local pub. He suddenly came over all dizzy, was vomiting and sweating profusely, couldn’t get up. He’s in A&E now waiting on results of a CT scan. They won’t let either myself, my sister or step mum in due to Covid so been sat outside in the car park since 10 this evening. Just feeling awful that I can’t be with him and so worried as it’s so difficult to get any updates.

I’m awake and can hand-hold. Is the car park the best place for you if you can’t go inside? Are you all there? Do you live nearby?

Sparklfairy · 01/08/2021 04:47

I take it you live quite far from the hospital and that's why you're in the car park (I live 15 miles from A&E so I do get it)? How worrying for you. Are there any cafes or something close by that will open early (6ish)? It's Sunday so maybe not but somewhere close you could stretch your legs and get a coffee if you don't hear anything?

He's in good hands. The waiting is the worst though. Flowers for you.

I’m very sorry to hear this. Are you with your sister and step mum in the car ? Will they not even let one of you inside so you can get an update?

Are you able to get a cup of tea or some food delivered to where you are, so you don’t have to leave the car park?

Hand hold from me Thanks

Cati482 · 01/08/2021 05:54

Thanks for the hand hold x he’s had his CT scan, thankfully that’s clear so they are letting us take him home but will need to bring him to a consultant led clinic on Monday. They think it could either be a TIA or a severe vertigo attack. He had some atrial fibrillation so they can’t be certain which it is as this point. Xx

Ah, that sounds a better outcome than it might have been. Good luck to you all

Glad he’s allowed to come home with you and he’ll be getting the attention he needs x
