I have quite long wavy, unruly hair, sometimes I love it sometimes I hate it.
Last night my partner said and I quote " what have you done to your hair, you look like Kate Bush, it's all frizzy down the back"
He doesn't understand why I was so hurt and why I think this was more of an insult and is now saying it was his was of saying it's sexy!
How can I make him understand it was insensitive?

Was it frizzy at the back? I wouldn't be hurt if someone made a comment like that if it reflected the truth. Its not a compliment or an insult. It's an observation.

If I'd made an effort to look nice before we went out and that comment had been passed as we were about to leave the house that would be different.
